Varanasi is the Holy City for Hindus and one of the most important religious centres in India. The city is located on one of the curves of the Ganga River (Ganges) - the holiest of all Indian rivers. Varanasi has 80 Ghats situated along the western bank of the Ganga River (Ganges), where pilgrims come to wash away all their sins. The Hindus believe that the ones who died in Varanasi are freed from the cycle of life and death and have the privilege to be cremated here. Varanasi claims to be one of the oldest cities in the world.
